Follow-up Comment #5, bug #20902 (project rdiff-backup):
Confirmed.
An older version of rdiff-backup comes with the KDE desktop installation on
Ubuntu 7.04 as a prerequisite of the keep back up program.
Removal of this older version of rdiff-backup and clean reinstall of v1.1.14
eliminated the error.
