the quote in questions is:

i think the point of A8, is that there are no generic "linux
distros" - the fact that some distros use the linux kernel
without the GNU userland, only underlines the point: that it
is uninformative, and unnecessarily confusing, to classify
distros by the kernel which they use - that sentence would
be every bit as informative, if it were simply "various
distros", or "various *nix-like distros"
