Not only that, but part of the 'homework' at this level is
collaborative. Many times before posting to this list about a subject
I've run my idea past John Clizbe as a sanity check -- I think a good
ninety percent of the reason why people take me seriously is John has
the good grace to shoot down my more outrageous notions. Encouraging
social contact between keyserver operators, so that we can come to our
own estimation of each others' skills, capabilities and integrity, seems
to be significantly in the best interests of the community.

Let's not overlook the more everyday reason: to know each other better.

There's a major problem, though: how do we convince the community of
OpenPGP users that we're not conspiring behind-the-scenes? If we point
users to the archive of videoconferencing, how can we persuade
possibly-skeptical users there do not exist any unrecorded conferences?
And for that matter, is it even possible to do so? (My thinking on
that one is 'no', by the way, and my belief is Phil is likewise of this
opinion.)

So, yeah. Consider this a very longwinded "me, too!" post which
emphasizes the social part of keyserver operators talking to each
other. :)
