hihi, all -
while it seems intuitively unlikely that independently produced solutions to a
modeling problem tend to have correlated errors, such is the common result of
the experiments
this is why it is important to read the original work (see nancy leveson's
home page, easily found on the web)
it turns out that the ``tricky'' parts of the problem tend to get more errors
in any implementation, and this fact is what destroys the independence of
error occurrences, regardless of the independence of algorithms
