[Apologies in advance for the cross-posting, but this reply is
probably relevant for folks on the support list as well, since it will
probably be a FAQ.]

Hi Konrad,

Unfortunately we don't have the resources to do a CD-ROM right now,
see (at the bottom):

 http://www.swarm.org/release-mirrors.html

We wouldn't do a CD-ROM of the "snapshot" release in any case, because
it's just that, a development snapshot, and not the final, tested,
release. A CD-ROM release would probably entail binaries for other
platforms (such as Solaris, other flavours of GNU/Linux such as Debian
and SuSE) that we simply don't have the resources to put together
right now. However, volunteers to maintain packages for these other
platforms are always welcome.

The development snapshot is mainly a source release in any case, and
the binaries (in the Windows case) are a stop-gap not fully fledged
installable packages like the 2.1.1 release. It's best if you simply
follow the instructions at:

 http://www.swarm.org/release-swarm-snapshot.html

and download either the Windows snapshot or the Red Hat Linux version,
whichever is relevant for your platform.

If you haven't done so already, joining the SDG would be great a way
to help us do CD-ROM releases in the future, see:

http://www.swarm.org/sdg-members.html

and contact Paul Johnson <address@hidden> for more information on
how to join.
