    I disabled the CVS part of the savannah project thingy 

As I understand it, it is possible to have CVS be a readonly mirror of
the bzr (or whatever) repo, but I don't know how to set it up.  Gnulib
is set up that way (with git as the master rather than bzr, but
hopefully that doesn't matter.)

If it'd be desirable here, putting in a support request at savannah
would hopefully garner a response.
