Follow-up Comment #2, patch #4265 (project wesnoth):

The patch is better than nothing though, and the "erase all below" could
easily be changed to "erase all", that's the most likely use anyway. It will
usually leave 2 files / szenario: The first save, and the final reply - and
remove anything else. So it does reduce clutter a lot. The "erase all below"
was done since I thought one might use it mid-szenario, and so would want to
exclude the current one on top.

Anyway, I agree that a hierarchical list with multiple selections would
supercede it. But having looked at the dialogs code, this simply is not
supported (yet) by the current UI. So it will probably take some time until
this can be done, and maybe you can use something like this patch as a
temporary solution for now.
