What each letter represents in Wesnoth maps,
and the possible values of the //letter// key.

Any letters can be used for a terrain except for newline.
See TerrainWML for information on how to define a terrain.

These are terrains defined in data/terrain.cfg of 0.8.5:
* 'g' grass
* 'm' mountain
* 'c' coast
* 's' deep water
* 'Z' mermen village (shallow water)
* 'p' pier (grass,coast)
* 'w' swamp
* 'Y' swamp village (swamp,village)
* '/','|','\' bridge (grass,coast)
* 'd' sand
* 'R' road (grass)
* 'r' dirt (grass)
* 't' village
* 'v' human village (village)
* 'S' tundra
* 'i' ice (tundra)
* 'V' snow village (tundra,village)
* 'h' hills
* 'H' hills (snow graphic)
* 'f' forest
* 'F' forest (snow graphic)
* 'W' cavewall
* 'u' cave
* 'D' underground village (cave,village)
* 'C' castle
* 'K' keep
* 'X' canyon
* 'y','z' reserved for custom terrains in user-made campaigns.
Use campaign definitions (see CampaignWML)
to prevent your custom terrains from interfering with other campaigns.
* '~' fog
* ' ' shroud
