Hi everyone
(Yes - Wednesday night is my FHSST night :)
I have been doing some more work on the writing competition idea. We
have many new members so a brief explanation - we decided to try to
hold a writing competition. To enter people would have to write a short
section from one of the books. If we get a sponsor and run it over the
June/July
holiday we can probably get a large number of entries. With a proper set
of guidelines we can ensure that entries are suitable to be used in the
books.
This would be a way of getting a whole lot of short term volunteers to help
with whatever sections are still outstanding in a couple of months time.
I am trying to work on a proposal that we can use to approach sponsors.
I have
a very rough draft and I am looking for some help from anyone who has
some time.
The draft as is stands can be downloaded (445kB) from either of these links:
http://www.nongnu.org/fhsst/WritingCompetitionIdeas.pdf
OR
http://stary2-02.lbl.gov/WritingCompetitionIdeas.pdf
I need comments/criticisms and most importantly suggestions. A cover
letter will still
be required and the budget needs to be worked our properly.
So please take a look and if you have any ideas please send them in to
the list - all
ideas welcome. We also need to come up with a list of potential sponsors.
Cheers,
Mark
