Hi Lutz!
Usually this shouldn't happen at all. If I start my fluidsynth (no Qsynth
involved) and try the following:
load ndbass.sf2
# it loads and all connections made before still exist.
unload 1
# all is well
load ns_piano.sf2
# loads perfectly and connections still exist.
I use fluidsynth 1.0.8, it worked with fluidsynth 1.0.7a as well. I use jack
for audio and alsa for MIDI.
Perhaps you should tell us a bit more about your setup: Fluidsynth-version,
audio/MIDI drivers used, OS.
