You could actually try it allredy today, well..
sort of ;-)

Make a dir called "Cart", populate it with symlinks
to files living elswere. Go to this dir, press F9 and
search for *.*, and there you have "the list" in its
own window, with working rightklick, viewer, sorting
of columns, and so on..
