Karl, Eus, don't worry about the logo, this is just a proposal, and is up to the community to decide if it should be applied or not. I don't have a problem using the original logo if people want it so.
By the way, Eus, I haven't made a CD cover. What you saw is just the explanation of the logo that happens to look like a CD cover :)

Yes, I think "herd" is better since the CD cover is intended for general audience who may not have heard about GNU Hurd.
