extra-spacing-width functions with springs' minimum distances if you add  
them to arpeggios, which would result in their being spaced far away from  
ties (for example) which we don't want.  Doing it this way plugs directly  
into the ideal distance in note-spacing.cc, which is what we want.

I've never liked the horizontal spacing of left-aligned fingering...it's  
too tight.  Perhaps we could use a similar approach?
