990406 Leonid Pauzner commented on his patch for editing lynx.cfg :

the patch certainly seem useful,
but there is a long-term case for simplifying .lynxrc & lynx.cfg ,
ie to distribute lynx.cfg items among compile-time & on-line actions,
so that there are just 2 occasions to make choices:
when compiling -- now userdefs.h & --configure-switches --
& when using -- now lynx.cfg , command-line & Options --
via Options or matching command-line switches.
Screen manages that way, but it's probably a lot of work to convert Lynx.
