This will probably be decided by the new release manager, Thomas Moschny ;)

Certainly it makes a lot of sense to add many test versions before a
major release which introduces big new features, but on the one hand we
don't plan for any big new features (beside the cleanup) and on the
other hand about six years with test versions have just happened...
