Well, I tried doing a cvs_import, with the command line

mtn --db=../trywhole.db --branch=cm3.try.2 cvs_import address@hidden cvs/cm3/
>cvs-monotone-conversion-log4 2>cvs-monotone-conversion-errors4

using mtn version monotone 0.48 (base revision:
844268c137aaa783aa800a9c16ae61edda80ecea)

on a Debian i386 testing/squeeze system
and got an error log cvs-monotone-conversion-errors4 containing an
immense number of lines
mtn: vvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvv
mtn: vvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvbvvvvvvvvvvvvv
mtn: vvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvv

mostly v's, with an occasional b thrown in, ending with

mtn: vvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvv
mtn: vvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
mtn: rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
mtn: rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
mtn: fatal: error: inserting duplicate entry into attaches
mtn: this is almost certainly a bug in monotone.
mtn: please send this error message, the output of 'mtn version --full',
mtn: and a description of what you were doing to
address@hidden

Do you need the whole dump file?

The cvs-monotone-conversion-log4 merely contains

enter passphrase for key ID address@hidden (599ffffe...):
enter passphrase for key ID address@hidden (599ffffe...):
enter passphrase for key ID address@hidden (599ffffe...):

because I was a little slow realizing that I had to enter a passphrase.
I didn't immediately see this message on stdout because I had redirected it.
