Yes I simply downloaded the file: uisp-20030618.tar.gz

Did a:
./configure
make
make install

giveio.sys was already installed but I think I had to run the installer it
again.

I am pretty sure I have looked at or tried to open (CreateFile) on the lpt
port but it didn't seem to make a difference. However maybe it is a
combination of altering the timing for this platform and opening the lpt
port exclusively to hopefully fend off the plug-n-play system from poking
around at the wrong time. It does seem to go in "fits and starts" and can
work fine for a while and then fail 3 times in a row and then be fine again.

I'll check the CreateFile thing again this week some time and see if that
combined with the extended timeing makes a difference.

I'll also have a look at the uisp code to see what they are using for delays
and the value of the delays
