We've received a couple of reports now that PSPP 0.4.0 doesn't
work properly on x86-64.  I believe it.  But we've also fixed a
number of bugs in the version of PSPP currently in CVS.  Have you
tried the CVS version?  It is more trouble to set up than the
release version, so I'll understand if you don't want to go to
the trouble.

I do now have easy access to an x86-64 machine myself, so I
should try it out myself at some point.
