Follow-up Comment #9, bug #20910 (project pspp): Here's a modified version of your patch (against the current head) which shows what I had in mind. There's some ends which could be tidied up with this patch, and it seems to produce some GtkWarnings which didn't used to be there, but it seems to work, and so far as I can tell doesn't leak any memory. What do you think of this approach?
