Well, I guess your English is different than mine. The simple word
"under" does not have such a technical, precise, specific interpretation
in my mind.
How about not talking about it at all for libexecdir for now? Atleast
the nitpicker in me wouldn't have anything to nitpick anymore without
How about mentioning the possibility of more subdirectories? Does that
satisfy your inner nitpicker :)? It is useful to mention examples,
because it gives maintainers a specific clue about what to do.
The definition of @samp{libexecdir} is the same for all packages, so you
should install your data in a subdirectory thereof. Most packages
install their data under @file{$(libexecdir)/@var{package-name}/},
possibly within additional subdirectories thereof, such as
@file{$(libexecdir)/@var{package-name}/@var{machine}/@var{version}}.
