I just tried it, but gnubg crashes on a winxp system when I set a new path in "option" - "database".I'm not quite sure I follow. In options -> database it is possible to set a name of the database, which is translated in to a file name and path to be used by sqlite. It wouldn't be too hard to make that a file selection button instead, but I don't quite understand why you would want to select a file with a path.
I think it's because someone didn't want the file on the c: drive. The answer is not to store the "My documents" area on the c drive, as this is where the database is created.
Making this a file selection is not a good idea, as the other database types expect a database name, not a filename. I think a special case is just likely to cause problems.
