A. use 0.6.20
That may be next on the list. Apparently Mint 14, based off Ubuntu
12.10, based of Debian Testing (or is it Unstable... can never
remember)... has 0.6.19. Just my luck.
B. try setting the additional env var TMPDIR for an older duplicity, see
http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1965100/set-directory-of-tmpfile-on-linux
Well... I tried that, and specified the --archive-dir directive as
explained in GDR!'s post as well.
machin-sin data # TMPDIR=/srv/data/backup/tmp; export TMPDIR
machin-sin data # duplicity -vi --tempdir /srv/data/backup/tmp/
--archive-dir /srv/data/backup/tmp/ file:///srv/data/backup/hp-pc/linux/
/srv/data/restore
...and it still filled up / at the same pace and crashed and burned at
the same spot.
