Hello, emacsconf-org volunteers!

Things are slowly starting to heat up. =) We've posted the EmacsConf
2023 call for participation at https://emacsconf.org/2023/cfp/, and
there have been 4 submissions already. Yay!

We're experimenting with early acceptances this year so that speakers
have more time to work on their presentations, which gives us more
time to reencode videos, doublecheck things, edit captions, etc. Let's
start with trying to get back to speakers by a week after their
submission. If we're going by the same principles as the previous
EmacsConfs, we basically like to say yes to as much as possible, and
it's totally okay to see if we can nudge talks to cover more
interesting or more useful ground, or to work together well with other
talks.

If you would like to review the submissions and you're not currently
part of the emacsconf-submit list, let me know and I can add you. If
you're already in the group, you can access the archives from
https://lists.gnu.org/mailman/listinfo/emacsconf-submit .
emacsconf-submit@gnu.org can be used for private discussions about
proposed talks. I'll e-mail my current notes on the submissions to
emacsconf-submit. Here's a quick summary of submissions so far:

| Date to notify | ID | Title
              | Time | Q & A |
| 2023-07-03 | lspocaml | Writing a Language Server In OCaml for Emacs,
fun, and profit | 10 | live |
| 2023-07-04 | llm | LLM clients in Emacs, functionality and
standardization | 20 | live |
| 2023-07-06 | extending | GNU Emacs for electronics, note-taking, and as
lightweight IDE | 20 | live |
| 2023-07-06 | lem | How to build an Emacs 2: Revenge of the Lem
              | 20 | e-mail after the event |

Early acceptances will also mean getting our preparation instructions
and tips up soon. At some point we'll figure out the magic words that
will get everyone to record things at a readable size and with an
external microphone if possible. <laugh> So if anyone wants to flip
through the lessons learned from last year
(https://emacsconf.org/2022/organizers-notebook/#lessons) and start
thinking about how to improve https://emacsconf.org/2023/prepare/ ,
that would be great too!

Looking forward to more proposals!

Sacha
