No, I don't use darcsum.el, rather vc-darcs.el.  But vc-* backends only
support single file operation(at least in emacs 22.2 here), so when I
need to operate on multiple files, I would use shell command line, and
rely on EDITOR=emacsclient to write logs, etc.  I don't know why darcs
would file a new emacs session instead.  (svn/git works well with the
same settings.  )
