Well, until my recent (as yet unreleased to the public) work on Git
branching, Redmine had zero concept of branches at all, which would
explain that :)

And even in my fork, there still isn't a branch <--> issue
relationship, as that was sort of a "step 2" kind of fix, and I just
needed the ability to view info about Git branches other than
"master", which Redmine proper isn't even capable of.

Definitely a good reason to prefer a DVCS based tracker, for sure.
This isn't nearly as big an issue for me or my co-workers, another
reason I've settled back on a centralized Web-based system instead of
going with pitz/ditz/bugs-everywhere/etc.

I tend to fall on that side of things myself (for example, I do most
of my Mailman setup via its handy CLI scripts these days.) I'll
probably add CLI functionality to my Redmine fork at some point as
well (should be pretty simple since it's all just Ruby).
