This is ok.  The first semget failed, but the 2nd attempt suceeded.

This however indicates the poll loop is spinning way too much.

Do you happen to have the OpenIPMI IPMI drivers installed on your box? 
FreeIPMI doesn't use them.  So it's possible our library's driver is
being interfered with the OpenIPMI drivers.
