I don't know how to get support for N'Ko on Ubuntu, sorry.  Please ask
an Ubuntu forum for help.

ttfautohint is a program to hint TrueType fonts (to make it more
readable at small sizes on the screen).  Among many other scripts it
also supports N'Ko.  However, this single program doesn't help you to
get language support for the desktop.
