Please tell us first what you tried already, and what interests you
most.  What you can always do, for example, is to submit merge
requests that add comments to the source code, making it easier to
understand – this might help both you and other future developers.

The same is true for the documentation.  It is always valuable if
people get a fresh, new look because they see (or miss) things that we
no longer notice.
