Hi,
I'm attempting to build Gnome-Commander 1.2.0 on my Fedora Core 3 system...
On ./configure, I get this:
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
No package 'gnome-doc-utils' found
configure: error: Package requirements (gnome-doc-utils >= 0.3.2) were
not met
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Which is kinda funny, since I downloaded
ftp://ftp.gnome.org/pub/gnome/sources/gnome-doc-utils/0.6/gnome-doc-utils-0.6.1.tar.bz2
and compiled gnome-doc-utils 0.6.1,
And after the ./configure, make, make install dance,
a file gnome-doc-utils.pc is happily sitting on /usr/local/lib/pkg-config
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
address@hidden gnome-commander-1.2.0]# cd /usr/local/lib/pkgconfig
address@hidden pkgconfig]# ls
gnome-doc-utils.pc ogg.pc vorbisenc.pc vorbis.pc
libmms.pc theora.pc vorbisfile.pc xml2po.pc
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Of course, things would be MUCH, much easier for people like me (end
user with no desire to fight the build utils/environment) if the
Gnome-commander web page listed/linked to RPMs for popular distros...
So far, the download page at
http://www.nongnu.org/gcmd/download.html#distro
Lists "Fedora packages" wich links to
http://gcmd.iskip.host247.pl/
...which only offers RPMs for FC5...
Thoughts, comments, expletives?
