Ok - for testing purposes, I've chmoded it for write access: ls -l /proc/bus/usb/001/003 -rw-rw-rw- 1 root usb 366 Dec 17 11:16 /proc/bus/usb/001/003and tweaked the ebuild to enable debug (just for clarity here are the options I've set again:
