With an early common approach to the corner, it's mostly a question of
style whether to respond immediately or taking a free corner. With
uncommon, supposedly bad, approaches I don't see any compelling reason
to hurry on to a free corner. On the contrary it's probably a good
idea to respond immediately and let the opponent's stone look stupid.
