No, I had this confusion too.
"XML" SOAP is Simple Object Application Protocol (or similar), a form of XML
remote procedure call,
there is no plan to use this in gnumed yet.
medical SOAP is a clinical note
Subjctive: presumably the patient's history,
Objective: the examination findings, plus blood tests, scans, etc.
Assessment: the diagnosis
Plan: the treatment, such as prescription of a drug, surgery, etc.
