Unfortunately KNOPPIX shows some odd behavior when using other languages than 
German. It does not start postgres, ignores a script to change permissions of 
some files, does not load the background image and refuses to authenticate 
test-doc when postgres has been successfully started.

I do not know what causes these problems. Until further notice there is no 
sense in using GNUmed-Knoppix on non-German PCs.

I will keep you posted.
