wow, never used a packet sniffer before.There was 908 packets from login to application startup, and 1674 - 908 ~ 750 packets to do a demographic retrieve. A lot of the packets were for cursor Declare, and cursor close, with one fetch per cursor. so we could remove about 2/3 of the packets leaving still about 300 and 220 packets to account for. If we wrote some large denormalizing sql views, maybe can reduce this by a factor of 10. ( I noticed oscar-mcmaster has some large ugly views ).
