[Gnumed-devel] Links to nowhere?

I've been bopping through the Gnumed package and I've noticed a lot of links that point to files in locations that just do not exist.

Files that exist (for example) in /var/lib/python-support/python2.5/Gnumed/etc, etc, etc...

Point to the non-existant location: /usr/share/python-support/gnumed-client/Gnumed/etc, etc, etc

Not only is this common in GNUmed, but it seems ALL files from various other programs are doing the same thing!  The only folder under /var/lib/python-support is python2.5 but the links point to locations (demonstrated in bold above) that suggest other folders are present there.  It seems that *.py files are the ones doing it the most while *.pyc (often sharing the same name as the *.py files) are not doing it at all.   The *.so and *-info files seem to do this, too.

Can someone tell me why?  It seems so pointless and confusing.
