Really nice work.
gnumed-serverv9 ist out. What does this mean ? You can get a fully configured
GNUmed client and server installation in no time.
I just booted up the live CD, opened '/etc/apt/sources.lst' and added the line
deb http://ftp.de.debian.org/debian experimental main
The file was then saved. One can now run 'apt-get update' and 'apt-get install
gnumed-server'. This step takes care of dependencies and copies all needed
files to the corresponding directories.
The shell scripts (yes this still uses the bootstrapper) are copied
to '/var/lib/gnumed/server/bootstrap'
So issue 'cd /var/lib/gnumed/server/bootstrap' to change into that directory.
from there run './bootstrap-latest.sh'
Running as root the complete bootstrap process went in one go. No yes/no
questions no multiple password prompts. Nice. And the best of all it worked.
There is always room for improvement.
1.) it would be useful to symlink the bootstrap-latest.sh script and
upgrade_db.sh to /usr/bin.
2.) It can be discussed if a postinstallation script should invoke the
bootstrapper as root and bootstrap a database so there is no messing with the
cmd shell.
Overall. Nice work Andreas and Karsten
BTW. For the Live-CD I will try to change from restoring a database dump to
using the server package.
