Surely, that isn't too difficult at all.

That would work, yes.

I'd be very careful in proposing that to them. Often closed
source vendors are paranoid about *im*porting things into
their system as they feel that may open them to claims of
litigation due to things beyond their control.

I'd also try to complete the easy step first.
