For the list´s knoledge:

Mandriva 2010.0 comes with the locale set as "C" ... change locale and things *might* change.

I am trying Debian Testing again ... made the damn wireless work, but am stuck on the screen resolution again...

May install Mandriva again if I have no other option, but until then it seems PostgreSQL in Mandriva is just a "second hand" DB with no intention on the security we need to run GNUmed if it EVER will be acredited (maybe things will change, but I doubt it).

Which is quite logical because "UTF8" is NOT a locale.

Which is entirely bogus.

LC_COLLATE="UTF8" doesn't have any sensible meaning. Just because
characters are *encoded* in utf8 does not give them any *order* -- which
is what LC_COLLATE is *about*.

Yes please.

Yes please.
