I have just come across your post regarding difficulties in configuring 
the remote DICOM modalities with Orthanc [1].

I released Orthanc 0.7.4 a few hours ago [2]. This new version fixes the 
problem you mentioned in the JSON configuration file: The port number 
can now be set either as an integer, or as a string [3].
