I'd never use servers from the generic "pool" domain. They return IP
addresses from all over the world. The pool system is organized by
continent and country, so at least use

server 0.north-america.pool.ntp.org
server 1.north-america.pool.ntp.org
server 2.north-america.pool.ntp.org
server 3.north-america.pool.ntp.org

or even

server 0.us.pool.ntp.org
server 1.us.pool.ntp.org
server 2.us.pool.ntp.org
server 3.us.pool.ntp.org

I personally use my ISP's NTP server, four pool servers in my own
country, and three pool servers from neighboring countries. This may be
overkill, but NTP is smart enough to weed out bad servers.
