I just pulled git head, and tried again. Oddly now the script keeps running,
but cgps times out on connect. Plain killall gpsd, and a restart got things
working again...

I just tried git head on an i7. It failed the test, needing kill -9, in just
under 3 mins.

ps says it is stuck in hrtime?

dagwood gpsd # ps -ael
F S UID PID PPID C PRI NI ADDR SZ WCHAN TTY TIME CMD
5 S 65534 27818 1 0 70 -10 - 11141 hrtime ? 00:00:03 gpsd

WCHAN address of the kernel function where the process is sleeping

And it seems to still be consuming a bit of cpu...
