[gpsd-dev] OS X and git head

Yo All!

I just got git head working on OS X Yosemite (10.10).

gpsd/cgps works with the GR-601W, ecept for SHM:

mini:gpsd root# gpsd -nN /dev/tty.usbserial 
gpsd:ERROR: shmat failed: Too many open files

scons check also fails for me.  Maybe a real Mac person knows what I am 
doing wrong?

I am runnning as root, and I get these errors:

gpsd:ERROR: device open failed: Permission denied - retrying read-only
gpsd:ERROR: read-only device open failed: Permission denied
gpsd:ERROR: /dev/ttys005: device activation failed.

gpsd:ERROR: read-only device open failed: Permission denied
gpsd:ERROR: /dev/ttys005: device activation failed.

Any ideas?

Did I really hit a limit of open SHMs?

How can I see/set the limit of SHMs on OS X?
