generally so yes, but the actual efficiency in a particlar case of course
depends on the kind of diffs - i.e. sometimes A->B->C may be simpler than
C<-D if C->D was very complex? not that this would matter here, is quite
beside the point, just an observation.

so as file formats are implemented in the applications, something is left
for them about diffs too .. merging you already mentioned, in what i added
to the use case analysis earlier.

BTW: as above about file formats and applications, do we speak similarly
about structures and applitudes in (g)zz?
