Of course it depends on what you are adding. If there are some function
fields, you should check if they are not too slow.
About user-friendlyness, customers are not always the best people to
listen about this subject. It is a well know practice that having less
information per screen make it more efficient and give better user
experience.
More over I don't see how a tab could be more user-friendly than a relate.
