I have no idea, I wanted to learn through
experimenting, and what I now that gnucap *can* do,
which the others mentioned can't is: Transient
analysis of valve amplifiers without spending hours on
a few milliseconds (hehheh...), whithout crashing or
having problems converging, etc... 

Noise analysis?? I haven't gotten that far.... :) But
gnucap does what I currently need in a faster more
stable and, as you mention, more expandable way
(because it's free).

What I meant was: MY project is not exactly scientific
engineering... therefore I might like something simple
so I can just play around and see changes instantly.
But never mind, gnucap with the models precompiled
(rather than written as expressions like
LTSpice/PSPice) is so fast it more than makes up for
it.

I know... :( I don't usually complain about
proprietary solutions but agree with you.

Thanx a lot for your help, I'll try theese suggestions
and as I learn more I'll learn to appreciate the
sophistication of those tools rather than just
click'n'play... :)
