So, parcellfun will work as well as that was the problem 
that caused the error with the fink build.

Francis, I can send you a test for parcellfun that does not use bim, 
or you can try to install the new version from within Octave with

pkg install -forge bim

to use the current test. When I have time I'll try to see whether I can update 
the port for bim-octave ...
