Centralisation of communication is a software and data freedom issue.
What good are non-centralised protocols and tools like e-mail if most
of the communication goes through servers of a single entity?
In such situation both freedom and decentralisation of this
communication is illusory - and the only thing you have to do to grasp
it is imagine if Google went belly up this minute.
Which is not the worst scenario, too.
