Just in case someone wants to try it, it's "-j", not "-J". The $ov_port is
the overnet port you can find in downloads.ini (overnet_port).

I'm not sure if it's a psychological effect, but I blocked Overnet traffic
as Sven suggested and the downloads have raised from 5-8kb to 12-14kb in a
few minutes :O

Please note that 352Mb in 24h (around 4kb/s) is quite a low transfer rate
(perhaps I'm downloading rare files). I'm on a 265/128 DSL.

I guess in a few hours I'll see if the download rate has really improved.

As far as I can tell, 2.02-8 works very well for me. Regarding memory
usage, mldonkey has been using 20-30Mb. The maximum peak mldonkey has used
is 37Mb.
