Yes, that was discussed some time ago and I also think it is a good idea.

It shouldn't be too hard to do, if the current position in the queue can
be obtained (which I don't know).

My suggestion (print the current/initial position queue) should be even
easier to implement, and that's why I didn't include the "advanced
feature" of calculating the queue speed (which would require more
tweaking of the mldonkey code).

But it would be nice to have that too :)
