Follow-up Comment #1, bug #57337 (project octave):
Is there any reason you are trying to install the package, when it should
already have been installed as part of the installer/tarball ?
If using the installer, running:
pkg list
should list a number of preinstalled packages.
If using the tarball, doing
pkg rebuild
and then
pkg list
should show a bunch of preinstalled packages.
